is what i’ve been asking since the friday phone crazyness at the studio!! the one day sale was a HUGE success…starting out with 6 messages prior to 10 am (i had to get groceries…lol) to ending around 6:30pm.
lots of great questions, filled up the majority of the month of june, and in general lots of excitement to get cool senior pictures done. i can’t wait.
this week the studio will be closed to shooting, but NOT PICKUPS…those will still occur…as we are starting into tearing apart the atrium and getting our new sets finished for the upcoming seniors. so many fun ideas that have been in my head for the last 8 months, but lately not able to be done because of the stupid BLIZZARD! who’da thunk in mid april??!!
anyway, thanks all that called on friday…thank you for being patient with the wait that you sometimes had to deal with. we appreciate you excitement!

KALLHOFF PORTRAIT IS GOING GREEN!!
I learned so much while in Italy…and now that I’ve been home for a few months, some of the differences have become glaringly apparent.
A. We waste a lot of paper at the studio. ALOT!
B. Gas is getting progressively more expensive and our clients drive a considerable distance to the studio.
C. Time…time is so valuable and we all deserve to spend as much of it with our families that we can.
SOOOOO…in light of those revelations, we are going to be changing some of our bad habits at the studio…
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU OUR CLIENT?
1. We are going proofless. We have found that with the online private gallery that our clients are able to share their images with friends and family much easier, as well as we will be SIGNIFICANTLY reducing our paper usage!! You will still receive our client CD with your image show on it, as well as your personal client online gallery.
2. In keeping with the reduction of paper, we will be doing all communication by email and phone. With email, we do not wish to increase your spam, so, if you receive any communication from us that you no longer wish to receive, PLEASE return it to us with a ‘remove from mailing list’ in the subject line, and we will happily remove you.
3. The rising price of fuel. With picking up orders or placing orders, you will have a couple of options. We are more than happy to ship your cd or your finished orders to you via priority mail for a nominal fee to simply cover the cost of postage. This option is most cost effective and time efficient for the majority of our clients! While we LOVE seeing you, we also want to save you money and valuable time.
4. In keeping with the fuel and time issues, we will be offering an ‘ordering by email’ option for the first time ever. IF you wish to order by email we ask you to contact us and we will send you step by step instructions. IF you order online, we will follow up with your order with a phone call as we wish to continue offering the best customer service possible! Any questions can be answered at that time, we will confirm your image numbers and quantity, as well as help you with any custom product offerings you may be interested in. Realizing this is a new service, please bear with us with the glitches and mistakes that could be made by simply not having the face to face ordering. We will STILL be doing in studio ordering for those that wish a bit more guidance and help.
5. And lastly, time. We realize that in this busy busy world we live in, that all of us feel the stress of time. Our hope at Kallhoff Portrait is, that with the ‘green’ changes we are implementing that they will also give you the gift of time and convenience. Being able to book appointments online with us, paired with the online ordering system, we hope that this makes it easier for you to work with us, regardless of time of day or night.
Phewwww…a lot to write out, but, truly, I am excited about the exciting new changes to our studio!

forecast calls for more snow…

ERGHHHHHHHHHHHH…….. that’s all i can say.
ok, so, because of the crappy forecast for the next two days, kelli and i worked hard on getting props put away, getting new ones out, and anything else that required moving stuff in and out of the atrium, grainery, or studio.
while the studio still looks like a bomb went off in it, i do feel like we accomplished quite of bit for a few hours of chaotic work. we put together a great new couch, got out one of our new screens, moved out the xmas set FINALLY, and are getting ready for putting our new set together in the tin corner…i am SO excited for that one!
anyway…great things are happening in the revamping and getting ready for new ’season’ at kallhoff portrait.
in keeping with the ever evolving world out here, we have some great new ideas on how to make our studio more ‘green’…
after being in italy for 3 weeks and seeing how environmentally conscious they are, it’s really been weighing on my mind how wasteful we are at the studio, sooooo, keep watching here for a new announcement of ‘green changes’ we are making! i’m pretty excited about all that too!
ok, back to working on last minute grad announcements, and the ‘new stuff’ that is yet to be announced.

and the snow…will it ever end??!!
life at the studio/farm is at best muddy and totally messing up our plans for building the new sets…i
am SO FRUSTRATED!
so, the studio is a mess, the yard is a mess, and it’s impossible to start moving things in or out of the atrium…erghhhhhhhhhhhh….
ok, but on the positive side: we have our sets planned out to the most infinite of detail, the many gold bags of graduation announcements are slowly but consistently disappearing, and the last stragglers to order announcements seem to be getting it all taken care of,
SOOOO…that is all good!
