Fresh Faces Contest Opens!

What a blast this was…THANK YOU to all the parents and children that participated in our first ever Fresh Faces model search!  it was a crazy busy week, so many sessions…TONS of images, and in general, a complete blast to have worked with you all!  Thank you for your time and your willingness to do ANYTHING!

Just a quick review of the rules for voting and such:

•     The contestants entry images will be posted online at  www.kallhoffportrait.com/blog for two weeks where you will be able to view and vote for your favorites.  The winner of each category will be based on the number of votes received, only one vote per contestant, per computer will be allowed.

•    The winners will be announced at www.kallhoffportrait.com/blog on Monday May 17, 2010.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…out of fairness…only 1 vote from each IP address will be allowed.  DO have friends and family vote, again…just one vote from each IP address will count.  (remember, large companies ie. verifications, premier bankcard, etc., are ONE IP address-so as soon as 1 person votes from that building, it shuts out the rest of the voters from THAT IP address.

There are three categories: maternity, baby, toddler.  The winners will receive a 10 Image Brag Book from their model session, courtesy of Kallhoff Portrait along with being prominently featured in our advertising, displays and signage!

Perfectly Dressed Girl Model Search Voting Now Open

first off…THANK YOU to all the parents and girls that participated in the 2nd Annual Perfectly Dressed Girl model search!  you all were a joy to work with!  i wish you all the best in the competition.

just a quick review of the rules for voting and such:

•     The contestants entry images will be posted online at  www.kallhoffportrait.com/blog for two weeks where you will be able to view and vote for your favorites.  The winner of each category will be based on the number of votes received, only one vote per contestant, per computer will be allowed.

•    The winners will be photographed again by Heather Kallhoff and featured in the Perfectly Dressed Girl Holiday 2010 ad campaign.  The winners will receive a $50 gift certificate towards the dress of their choice from our 2010 Holiday collection & an Artists Choice 10 Image Brag Book from the model session, courtesy of Kallhoff Portrait.

INTRODUCING: Simply Kids…a new division of Kallhoff Portrait

i’ve thought about this for a while…what makes me happiest to photograph?  i’ve been lucky enough to be in this profession full-time for 10 years…and over those years, i’ve had the opportunity to photograph many things, place and people.  i am so thankful for all the people i’ve met, the places i’ve been!

but, my first love, what i always thought i would do FOREVER was teaching.  i was fortunate to be a teacher for 13 years…11 of those years working with special needs children, the other 2 years with 3rd. graders.  i left teaching to be a mom, and to follow this dream of photography, and i’ve never looked back.   it’s been wonderful to ‘teach’ other photographers over the last 10 years, so, in essence, i’ve never quit being a teacher!

what i’m finding out tho, is that i MISS working with kids…i miss the laughter, the silliness, the innocence of childhood…and so THAT has motivated me to shift a BIT of our emphasis at kallhoff portrait to that of kids.

so, it is with great pleasure that i introduce…SIMPLY KIDS…

and to launch it, we are going to have a FRESH FACES children’s portrait contest.

the goal of this contest is to create some amazing new images to reflect our new direction, as well as to feature our winners in our booth at a regional baby fair this may.  if you are interested in having your child participate in this contest, please contact heather either by phone 605-886-8858, or by email: heather@kallhoffportrait.com.

i will consult with you on the type of imagery i am wanting to create, the type of clothing to bring, and from there we will book your session.  SPACE IS LIMITED…so, if you are at all interested…you will want to contact me immediately!

sneak peek of baby b

i tell you, there is just something about those big eyes, soft skin, and baby smell that does make you think…hmmm, maybe ONE more baby…lol!

baby b certainly did that for me–what a good baby, he truly was a joy to photograph.
